Purpose: Established by Ohio General Assembly in 1988 to locally administer the Ohio Public Works Commission's State Capital Improvement Program (SCIP) and subsequently the Local Transportation Improvement Program (LTIP) within Hamilton County. The Committee has the responsibility of appointing members to the Natural Resource Assistance Council and establishing priorities for local Brownfield Revitalization Program funding applications. The Committee is also responsible for developing selection criteria, requesting applicationsand selecting projects for $12 million annually in state assistance for road, bridge, sewer, or waterline projects within Hamilton County funded through SCIP and LTIP, selection of members for NRAC, which works with the State of Ohio to provide funding for projects related to acquisition of green space, the protection of natural waterways, and establishment of recreational trails. Solicits applications from jurisdictions within Hamilton County for state assistance under the Brownfield Revitalization Program. In this case, the Committee ranks the applications for selection at the state level.

Appointment: 9 members, three appointed by the City Manager for three year terms

Requirements: District committee consists of 9 members: Two members appointed by Board of Commissioners, three members appointed by Chief Executive Officer of the most populous municipal corporation in the district (Cincinnati), two members appointed by a majority of other chief executive officers of municipal corporations in the district and two members appointed by a majority of the boards of township trustees in the district. One of the members appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, one member shall have experience in local infrastructure planning and economic development and one member shall by either a County Commissioner or County Engineer of the district.
