Tax Return
In addition to the change in the remittance schedule, all tax collectors must now submit supporting documentation for all allowable deductions claimed against the transient occupancy tax. This documentation is imperative to validate any deductions and maintain a transparent and fair tax collection process.
Please be advised that deductions made without the corresponding supporting documentation will not be approved. In such cases, the full 4% tax amount will be required for remittance. The transient occupancy tax can be remitted online at the following secure link:
For online payments, please email your monthly tax return and all supporting documentation to treasury.license@cincinnati-oh.gov.
Digital Instructions (NEW)
· To submit your return and documentation, please email them to treasury.license@cincinnati-oh.gov and note that you will be making payment online. Note that returns submitted digitally do not need to be submitted in duplicate.
· To pay your transient occupancy tax online, please click here. Payment can be made by credit card or e-check. Please note that there will be a 3% convenience fee added to all credit card payments. Please complete the following information:
o Customer Name. This should match the name listed on your transient occupancy registration certificate.
o Customer Address (if desired). This should match the address listed on your transient occupancy registration certificate.
o Select "Transient Occupancy Tax"
o In the Memo field,
§ Enter "Return MM/YYY" if you are paying for a month ending transient occupancy tax return. For example, when paying for your Nov. 2020 admission tax return, enter "Return 11/2020".
o Enter the total amount of your payment, including any late fee or interest due.
o Click Continue, enter your payment information, and follow the remaining prompts.
