Water Quality and Treatment
GCWW water meets or exceeds all state and federal health standards for drinking water.
On average, GCWW treats about 132 million gallons of water a day and conducts about 600 tests daily throughout the water treatment and distribution process. Monitors and alarm systems are also located throughout the treatment plants and in the distribution system to continuously monitor water quality.
These tests include:
- Source water is tested routinely before it enters the treatment plants.
- Treated Water is tested after each step in the treatment process.
- Water from the distribution system is sampled and analyzed regularly.
