CINCINNATI, OH — Greater Cincinnati Water Works (GCWW) recently published its annual Water Quality Report, also known as the Consumer Confidence Report. The report shares water testing data that shows GCWW drinking water continues to meet or exceed compliance with all federal and state drinking water standards.
The report provides data to water utility customers regarding compliance with U.S. EPA and Ohio EPA drinking water regulations and general drinking water quality.
“We are proud to share that GCWW continues to provide high-quality drinking water to more than 1.1 million people in our service area,” said Jeff Swertfeger, Superintendent of the Water Quality & Treatment Division. “Our utility consistently ranks highly for providing clean, safe water.”
The report also provides information about the water treatment process, local drinking water sources, and source water protection.
More than 100 regulated substances require monitoring or specific treatment, including various chemicals, microbiological agents, metals, and minerals. GCWW uses the most advanced treatment technologies to provide customers with clean, high-quality water including granular activated carbon and ultraviolet light disinfection.
