Request for Disconnection of Service Branch

The water service base charge is calculated based upon the size of your meter. If you have fire protection at your property, the fire service charge is calculated based upon your fire tap/branch size. Meter and tap/branch sizes can be located on your bill. Please use the link below for service rate information.

You will always be billed the base water service charge until you request the disconnection of your service branch. This service charge is always billed to the owner of the property and applies regardless of if there is no occupancy, no water usage, or no property connected to the service branch.

If water service is no longer needed, or if the future use will be significantly different (requiring a different sized branch), you may want to request to disconnect the service branch.

Once you have requested the disconnection of your service branch you will no longer be billed base water charges. You may still be billed any applicable stormwater charges. Stormwater billing can cease once the following conditions are met:

  1. Structure is razed
  2. Property is back to its natural state (grass/dirt/no concrete)

If your property already meets the requirements above and you are still being billed stormwater charges, please contact the Stormwater Management Utility at 513-591-5050.

Please Be Advised:

If the water connection is needed at any time in the future after a request to disconnect the service branch has been submitted, a new connection must be obtained through a certified licensed plumber at a considerable expense to the property owner. This may hinder potential buyers. Please see the link to the new connection rates below.

If you no longer wish to maintain your service branch and wish to proceed with the request to Disconnect your service branch, please complete the Application for disconnection of branch service.

** Please note that the immediate action will be to turn water service off and remove the meter if it has not already been completed. The physical removal of the branch from the water main may or may not be immediate **
