GCWW has been a fixture in the community for more than 200 years, but few people truly know about the many water-related processes, projects, and programs.

The GCWW CITIZENS WATER ACADEMY educates citizens about the value of water; provides a detailed overview of operations, including the treatment process and supply and distribution procedures; and creates a network of influencers who, upon completion, serve as community-outreach ambassadors.

The program takes you behind the scenes of the state-of-the-art facilities, demonstrates daily processes from lab work to water main repair, and explains all facets of GCWW operations, planning, and policies. Highlights include tours of GCWW facilities, special presentations from the Executive Director, and one-on-one Q&A with various subject-matter experts!

Topics include GCWW history, drinking water treatment and distribution, water quality testing, the enhanced lead program, stormwater, billing, meter reading, the future of water, and much more!

Testimonials:
“Thank you for all of your work on this program. It is clear how passionate everyone at Water Works is, and it is absolutely inspiring how hard you all work to keep us safe. Everyone celebrates first responders (as they should), but there is also a full army working on the PREVENTION of disaster every day!"

"I'm so happy to have participated in this program. I've always been a fan, but now you've got yourself a bonafide super-fan."
