Street Redesign
Redesigning our streets is one of the most effective things we can do to reduce speeding and increase the safety and comfort of all street users. Major street redesigns typically cost several million dollars, and grant money is necessary in order to implement these large-scale projects. Federal and State grant money is typically programmed several years in advance, and the Department of Transportation and Engineering (DOTE) always has projects in the design and construction pipeline. DOTE prioritizes street redesign projects based on crash data and community input, and submits several funding grant applications annually.
