Online Reporting FAQ

Q:  What do I do if online incident reporting is not right for me?

A:  If your incident is an emergency, call 911. If it is a non-emergency call 513-765-1212 or the front desk of any Cincinnati Police District.

Q:  What if this happened in another city? Can I file a report using this online police citizen reporting system?

A:  No. This system may be used only to report offenses that occurred within the Cincinnati city limits.

Q:  What is a suspect or suspect vehicle?

A:  A suspect is someone who you or someone else may be able to identify or locate that was responsible for the crime. To have a "suspect vehicle" means you have a license plate number or description of the vehicle used by a suspect of the vehicle.

Q:   Why can't I use online reporting for all crimes?

A:   Some crimes may require evidence collection, photography, or other investigative procedures which require an officer to respond to the scene of the crime.

Q:  Can I file a citizen complaint using this online police citizen reporting system?

A:  No, you must file a citizen complaint at http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/police/contact-us/complaint-about-police/.
