Cops Go to Pops Returns!

Nov 14, 2024

CINCINNATI, Ohio--- For the fourth year, Cincinnati Police Department officers and their families will experience the magic of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra’s holiday-themed concert this December, thanks to a generous donation from a Hyde Park family.

District Two residents Joe Brinkmeyer and daughter Lauren Goebel, advocate for local law enforcement and are loyal supporters of the Cincinnati Pops. They have purchased 120 ‘Holiday Pops’ tickets to demonstrate their gratitude for CPD’s dedicated service. This unique opportunity connects officers and their families with the local arts scene in an affordable and accessible manner.

“My husband, Wes, and I are thrilled to support two valuable local organizations who do so much for our community and continue the tradition of them celebrating the holidays together,” said Lauren Goebel.

Over the years, Joe Brinkmeyer and his late wife, Mary Brinkmeyer, supported their local District Two officers with Skyline, Starbucks, and Jersey Mike’s gift cards. Mary was also a proud supporter of local arts, including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

The 2024 season marks the fourth year of the Cops Go to Pops program. In 2021, the Brinkmeyers wanted to do more for the officers and developed an idea to combine their appreciation of the Cincinnati Police Department and the orchestra. Over the years, the Brinkmeyers have donated CPD with over 480 tickets to Pops performances and nearly 100 discounted youth tickets, allowing officers and their families to discover the enchantment of live music. The Cincinnati Police Department is grateful for Mary’s long-time support and is moved to carry on the 2024 Cops Go to Pops program in her honor.

"The Cincinnati Police Department appreciates Joe and Lauren’s invitation to attend the Cincinnati Pops,” said CPD Lieutenant Jonathan Cunningham, Public Relations Commander. “Every year, officers eagerly wait for the return of this program. We often have a waiting list, as many appreciate the opportunity to share a unique, festive, experience with their young children.”

This year, officers and their families will enjoy the musical talents of the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and conductor John Morris Russell on Dec. 13, 14, and 15.

Anyone who would like to support Cops Go to Pops can make a gift to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra for the benefit of ‘Cops Go to Pops.’
