PD-83 | FC Cincinnati Stadium Development

FC Cincinnati Stadium Development Background

On November 26, 2018, FC Cincinnati submitted a formal application to change the zoning from Commercial Community – Auto (CC-A) and Residential Multi-family (RM-0.7) to a Planned Development (PD) to facilitate the development of their proposed new soccer-specific stadium. The zone change request included a Concept Plan, which generally outlines where everything will be located on the site (how tall the buildings will be, seating capacity, square footage, etc.) along with a Final Development Plan for the foundation only. The Final Development Plan for the foundation will allow for construction to begin while the final details of the stadium are completed and approved. The City Planning Commission approved this item on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at their regularly scheduled meeting at 805 Central Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45202 on the 7th floor.

Concept Plan (November 26, 2018)

The Concept Plan submitted November 26, 2018 indicates:

  • A 110 foot tall, 26,500 seat soccer stadium.

  • An elevated plaza with future development buildings up to six-stories (90 feet) tall located east of the stadium along Wade Street (62,500 gross square feet) and Central Parkway (100,000 gross square feet). Access to these out buildings is being shown from both street level and the plaza and will be open year round.

  • Two on-site parking facilities: A 105 space surface parking lot located to the west of the stadium off John Street for players, coaches, and VIPs during game day, and a 400 space, two level parking garage on the northeast corner of the site located underneath the plaza. The team has also identified public parking opportunities within a 15 minute walk from the stadium as part of the required traffic impact study.
