Public Engagement Session for Hollister Recreation Area
Proposed Project
The City is the current owner of the Hollister Recreation Area located at 2429 Macauley Street, 2434 Vine Street, and 13 E McMillan Street. Developer Auburn Land Holdings LLC proposes the construction of Hollister Court – a project that includes a four-story apartment building atop a three-story podium parking garage with indoor and outdoor amenities, as well as five, three-story townhomes, at 2429 Macauley Street, 2434 Vine Street, and 13 E McMillan Street. The development agreement includes reimbursement by the Developer to the City for any loss of trees on the development site. The Developer was selected through the Request for Proposal Process and will enter into a land sale and development agreement with the City.
Total development cost is projected to be approximately $60 million, of which approximately $49 million will be hard construction costs.
The Developer has received support for the proposed sale from Mount Auburn Community Development Corporation and Short Vine Association. A plan for partnership with the Mount Auburn Community Development Corporation and the City to enhance and improve Inwood Park has been identified.
