Warsaw Avenue Business District Comes to Life as Part of City's 27th NEP
CINCINNATI – Residents joined the City of Cincinnati and various stakeholder groups on Warsaw Avenue on Thursday morning to celebrate the start of a months-long Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) benefiting the East Price Hill neighborhood.
The NEP is a 90-day community blitz that consists of a series of safety and beautification initiatives. The target zone of this NEP – the City’s 27th – is the Warsaw Avenue Business District. The NEP will run through mid-November.
“The renaissance of the Incline District in East Price Hill has created major progress for the community, and it is time to expand that momentum into the Warsaw Avenue Business District,” said Mayor Cranley. “I am proud to mark this iteration of the Neighborhood Enhancement Program and look forward to the successes that follow.”
The event took place in a once-blighted parking lot that is now a dedicated home to several food trucks and often serves as an event space for the community. The neighborhood, with support of the property owners and neighborhood partners like Price Hill Will, are also evaluating additional future uses of the site.
“The NEP is an investment in one of our City’s greatest assets—our neighborhoods,” added City Manager Duhaney. “Through this program we work directly with residents and partners to make meaningful, lasting investments in our communities. This program is a true catalyst for community capacity building but it’s only possible because of the support of our various partners.”
As part of the event Mayor Cranley announced two of the NEP’s signature projects, “Light Up Warsaw” and “Wrap Up Warsaw” – a pair of community-driven beautification projects that will help transform the look and feel of the business district while celebrating the unique architecture and history of the neighborhood.
The City of Cincinnati will partner with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful to recruit volunteers for its NEP community cleanup. The event will occur Saturday, Sept. 21 in the NEP target zone. More information is available at keepcincinnatibeautiful.org.
Other updates about the NEP, the signature projects and related community events will be shared on social media and the City of Cincinnati website. The final results will be showcased in November.
