City Administration's Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2020-2021
CINCINNATI – City Manager Patrick Duhaney is pleased to present the City of Cincinnati Administration’s Strategic Plan for Fiscal Years 2020-2021. This plan will be used to focus the City’s administrative priorities to deliver efficient, proactive, responsive, and dependable services to Cincinnati residents, visitors, and customers. The plan will be linked to the City’s biennial budget process and performance management program. As such, it will be refreshed with the passage of the Fiscal Year 2021 budget so it aligns with the initiatives that are funded by the Mayor and Council.
The “Strategies” column summarizes the performance expectations articulated by the Mayor and City Council in December 2018 when Mr. Duhaney was appointed City Manager. These five strategies show how the City can succeed at achieving its collective vision and highlights what is expected administratively.
The “FY20-21 Plans” column summarizes the work the Administration will perform during Fiscal years 2020 and 2021 to realize the “Strategies” desired by the Mayor and Council. This section does not capture all of what is accomplished by the City of Cincinnati. Instead, these plans serve as snapshot of some of the key activities, pulled from department Performance Agreements, that we will be working on during the next two fiscal years.
The five strategies are: Safety; Efficient Service Delivery Growing Economic Opportunities; Thriving Neighborhoods; and Fiscal Sustainability. You can read the full plan below.
“In a community as diverse as ours — with the breadth of our often-competing policy ideologies, our strengths and weaknesses, and the demographics of our City — it is no small feat to narrow down hundreds of great ideas from the Mayor and the City Council into five main Strategies. A concerted effort was made to be as inclusive as possible in creating this plan, and as a result we have a map that I believe is truly representative of what the City’s elected leadership wants us to administratively focus on.
