Living Wage

The Living Wage requirement applies only to service contracts with the City and requires every covered employer to pay covered employees a living wage. The Living Wage rates shall be adjusted upward annually, no later than April 30th, to correspond with the federal poverty guidelines published by the United States Department of Health and Human Services or by the Consumer Price Index, depending on the effective date of the contract. 

Contracts are subject to Living Wage requirements if the contract value is equal to or greater than $20,000 (except when services are incidental to the delivery of products, equipment or commodities). Similarly, grants or other types of financial assistance provided to charitable or social service agencies contractually or through various City programs are not considered service contracts. For more specific information, please see the FAQ link below.

Filing a Living Wage Complaint

If you are performing work on a City funded service contract in excess of $20,000, the contract is covered under the City's Living Wage Ordinance. If your employer has committed a violation of the City's Living Wage Ordinance, you are entitled to submit a Living Wage Complaint.
