Advised Action During A Tornado

  • If in a building, get to the lowest level. Put as many walls between yourself and the outside air as possible. Do not open windows!
  • If in a vehicle, mobile home, or trailer, leave immediately and seek shelter in the nearest sturdy building (lowest level).
  • If you ever get caught outside with no shelter during a tornado, lay flat in a trench or ditch. Never try to outrun a tornado and try to avoid flying debris (can cause injury or death).
