Incident Description: 

Companies called for a fire alarm smoke detectors sounding. En route dispatch started receiving duplicate calls that smoke was now seen and upgraded to a Still alarm. On arriva, companies found smoke coming from a second story apartment and a full 1 alarm response was sent. Units found food on the stove had caught fire and extinguished the fire within five minutes. All apartments were searched proving occupants had self-evacuated. The apartment was ventilated to remove as much smoke as possible. Smoke detectors were present and operating which allowed for early 911 notification of the fire department preventing more fire damage.
