Incident Description:
Cincinnati Fire Department was called to 1621 Linn for the report of an apartment on fire. Initial crews on
scene reported smoke showing from a sixth floor window with a victim hanging out the window. The
building is a 15 story high rise residential building. While engine companies stretched a hoseline to the
fire floor, truck companies placed their aerial ladder for rescue. One victim was rescued via aerial ladder
and was transported to area hospital for evaluation. A second alarm was called due to life hazard. The
fire was quickly brought under control, and the smoke evacuated from the building using positive
pressure ventilation. Other occupants were either evacuated or sheltered in place. The fire investigation
unit was called to the scene to determine the cause. The cause is still under investigation at this time.
