Karen Alder

Karen Alder is the Finance Director for the City of Cincinnati.

Ms. Alder has more than 27 years of public finance and real estate experience at the City of Cincinnati. During her time with the City, she has served in various capacities, such as Assistant Finance Director, Risk Manager, and Tax Increment Financing Manager. She played an instrumental role as a member of The Banks City/County Working Group providing assistance on finance and real estate matters and has contributed to the successful implementation of many economic development projects.  Ms. Alder has also served in the past as a member of the Cincinnati Retirement System Board of Trustees, a member of the Cinco Credit Union Board of Trustees and a trustee on the AFSCME Care Plan Board.

Ms. Alder has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Xavier University. She also received her certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional from the National Development Council, is a member of the Government Finance Officers Association and a member of the Communications Committee for the Women’s Public Finance Network.
