Policy Feedback

We passionately believe that actively involving our community members, stakeholders, and the broader community is crucial for achieving our objectives and making positive changes. The City’s Community Engagement Policy serves as a clear statement of our commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and intentional involvement in all aspects of local government. Below are the ways the City has engaged to create this draft policy to date:

  • Initial Community Conversations sessions, both in-person and virtually, as well as virtual surveying, led by the Department of City Planning and Engagement
  • Year-long research project supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies
  • Year-long working group led by the City Manager's Office and Department of City Planning & Engagement focused on operationalizing community feedback
  • In-person community feedback sessions in the fall of 2023. (October 17 & 24 and November 2)
  • Several focus groups with community organizations

After nearly three years of research and community conversations, we're excited to share the latest draft of the Community Engagement Policy that will govern how the City connects with our community. Please read the draft policy and provide feedback through the form linked below.
