Based on our research data and synthesis process, we've pinpointed a problem statement that represents a deep understanding of the challenges facing community members. This statement has been instrumental in shaping the vision for our new community engagement policy, and it reads as follows:
Historically, the City has chosen easy, relational, and perfunctory community engagement which limits the ability to connect and build trust with community.
If this problem is solved, the City will address and begin to repair historically damaged relationships through transparent and equity-centered collaboration with community.
