Collins Ave at Riverside Drive Closing until mid September for Repairs to Railroad Bridge

Editor's Note: The closure of Collins Avenue at Riverside Drive resumes Monday, April 11, for approximately five months. The closure was suspended and the road temporarily reopened for several weeks. The project is now expected to be completed by mid-September.
CINCINNATI – Collins Avenue between Riverside Drive and Gladstone Avenue in the East End will be closed for approximately five months beginning Monday, April 11, for repairs to the railroad bridge above it.
For safety reasons, this short stretch of road also will be closed to pedestrians and bicyclists for the duration of the project.
Motorists traveling on Riverside will be detoured to Columbia Parkway via Delta Avenue. Motorists heading south on Collins will be detoured via William Howard Taft Road.
Repairs include concrete work on the bridge’s abutments and its structural steel beams. Crews also will repaint the bridge after the repairs are completed.
The contractor is Prus Construction. The bridge is owned by SORTA/Metro Bus.
