City Hall Tours

The City of Cincinnati offers two types of group tours of historic City Hall. A basic tour lasts approximately 1 hour, and a tour with a simulated City Council meeting lasts approximately 1½ hours.

Basic Tour

The basic tour consists of a guided tour through City Hall. You will learn about the rich culture of Cincinnati through the images in the beautifully detailed stained glass windows. In addition, you will learn about the workings of Cincinnati's city government and the Romanesque design of the building. You may also request a basic tour and the opportunity to sit in on an actual council meeting. This tour is usually scheduled on Wednesday afternoon.

Tour With Simulated Council Meeting

The tour with simulated City Council meeting includes all the components of the basic tour with the addition of a mock council meeting featuring members of your tour group. If you choose the tour with simulated council meeting, we ask that students be age appropriate and that you prepare in advance by assigning the roles of mayor, city manager, council members, and city solicitor and identifying issues to be discussed.
