Council Member Mark Jeffreys
Mark Jeffreys is the son of an immigrant who grew up working poor going to public schools and on-and-off food stamps. Losing his mother and adopted brother at a young age shaped his path and through a network of support he has been able to build a life for himself and his community.
Mark worked as a union laborer (Local 59), janitor, waiter, mover and security guard for 6 years to pay for tuition at the University of Chicago. Upon receiving his college degree, Mark worked in Washington, DC for a Member of Congress then worked in Asia promoting exports of US dairy products before he completed his MBA at Georgetown University.
Mark came to Cincinnati in 2001 when he joined Procter & Gamble in Marketing where he spent over 16 years leading familiar brands such Pampers, Always, and Gillette. In 2017, Mark had the opportunity to move international with P&G but decided to leave the company to remain in Cincinnati. In 2018, Mark successfully launched his first start-up – Mobile Agent Now – an uberized review-response model. After selling the company in 2020, Mark became the Founder & CEO of 4Sight, a company focused on mining consumer insights from user-generated content mostly for consumer-packaged goods companies.
For over a decade, Mark has been active in the community having served as a Trustee on the Cincinnati Parks Foundation Board for over six years, and on the Clifton Town Meeting for two years where he led the Transportation and Public Safety Committee focusing on making streets safer for all in the neighborhood including adding the Clifton Ave bike lane and rush hour parking in the Central Business District. Mark also is the founder and CEO of the non-profit go Vibrant, which is best known for its walking routes throughout Cincinnati and the vision and execution of the P&G goVibrantscape at Smale Park, which turned a dilapidated parking lot into a 4.5-acre world-class experience with the flying pig, outdoor foot piano among other features.
Mark lives in Clifton, with his wife Pamela who is a pediatrician at West Side Pediatrics and four children. two of whom are in college and two of whom are at Walnut Hills High School. Mark enjoys running, traveling, reading history, spending time in parks and music. He and his wife are members of Wise Temple. He is also an avid cyclist and bicycle advocate; you will see him using his bike as a mode of transportation throughout the city.
