PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROTOCOL
Per the emergency order issued (June 21, 2020) by Mayor Cranley and Health Commissioner Moore, and the Ohio Department of Health’s issuance of compulsory health orders and guidelines during the ongoing public health emergency, the public participation component of Committee and City Council meetings will be conducted by Zoom audio/video conference format and by in-person public attendance with appropriate registration and social distancing protocols.
Each speaker must register in-person or online in order to receive a time slot. Each speaker will have two minutes to speak and will be given a time slot in advance. The first 40 minutes of every hour (20 speakers) will be dedicated to in-person comments, followed by 20 minutes (10 speakers) of Zoom participants. Each speaker will be notified of their time slot upon registration and is expected to be in City Hall (for in-person speakers) 10 minutes prior to their slot since speakers will be escorted to Council Chambers as a group. Any person offering in-person comments will be required to exit City Hall after speaking in chambers for so long as there are individuals queued to offer public comment.
In order to participate via Zoom you must fill out the registration form online by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23 for the Citizen Forum portion of the City Council meeting.
