CINCINNATI, OH – The annual Thanksgiving Day Race will again take place this year on Thanksgiving morning, November 28, 2024, at 900AM.  All street closures are listed but the major closures are:

 

Liberty Street- all of Liberty Street closed between Linn Street and Reading Road

Reading Road- all of Reading Road closed between Elsinore Place and Central Parkway

Central Parkway- all of Central Parkway closed between Liberty Street and Reading Road (Central Parkway north of Ezzard Charles will reopen after the Start line is cleared)

Mehring Way- all of Mehring closed between Freeman Avenue and E Pete Rose Way

 

 

In order to accommodate this event, the following streets will close at 8:30 AM and remain closed until approximately 12:00 PM:

 

Central Parkway- closed between Liberty Street and Ezzard Charles Drive (Closes at 630AM for Start Line construction)

Liberty Street- closed between Central Pkwy and Reading Road

Liberty Street- eastbound closed from Linn Street to Central Parkway

John Street- closed between Wade Street and Clark Street

Elm Street- closed between Fourteenth Street and Green Street, closed south of Freedom Way

Race Street- closed between Green Street and Liberty Street, closed between Twelfth Street and Ninth Street

Vine Street- southbound closed between McMicken Street and Fifteenth Street, northbound closed between Fifteenth Street and Hamer Street, closed between Twelfth Street and Ninth Street

Walnut Street- closed between Corwine Street and Fourteenth Street, closed between Twelfth Street and Ninth Street

Main Street- closed between Fourteenth Street and McMicken Street, closed between Ninth Street and Twelfth Street

Fourteenth Street- closed between Clay Street and Sycamore Street

Hughes Street- closed between Schiller Street and Liberty Street

Sycamore Street- southbound closed between Milton Street and Liberty Street, southbound closed between Short Reading Road and Ninth Street, northbound closed between Fourteenth Street and Liberty Street

Reading Road- closed between Elsinore Place and Central Parkway

Pendleton Street- southbound closed between Thirteenth Street and Reading Road

Twelfth Street- closed between Elm Street and Central Avenue, closed between Pendleton Street and Reading Road

Central Parkway- closed between Eggleston Avenue and Plum Street

Clay Street- closed south of Twelfth Street

Court Street- closed between Gilbert Avenue and Eggleston Avenue, closed between Walnut Street and Linn Street (eastbound open from Linn Street to Central Avenue)

Central Avenue- closed between Ninth Street and Ezzard Charles Drive, closed south of W Pete Rose Way

Eggleston Avenue- closed between Central Parkway and Reedy Street, southbound closed between Reedy Street and E Pete Rose Way

Reedy Street- closed between Culvert Street and Court Street

Sentinel Street- closed between Culvert Street and Eggleston Avenue

E Fifth Street- closed between Culvert Street and Eggleston Avenue

E Fourth Street- closed between Culvert Street and Eggleston Avenue

E Third Street- closed between Culvert Street and Eggleston Avenue

E Pete Rose Way- closed between Eggleston Avenue and Johnny Bench Way (local access maintained)

Johnny Bench Way- closed

Mehring Way- closed between E Pete Rose Way and Freeman Avenue

Joe Nuxhall Way- closed south of Second Street (hotel access maintained)

W Pete Rose Way- closed between Central Avenue and Gest Street

W Third Street- closed between the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge and Gest Street

Linn Street- closed between W Fifth Street and Gest Street

Gest Street- closed between Mehring Way and Third Street, northbound closed between Third Street and Linn Street

Linn Street- closed between W Eighth Street and Ezzard Charles Drive

Ezzard Charles Drive- closed between Winchell Avenue and Central Parkway

 

FINISH LINE:  EZZARD CHARLES DRIVE @ JOHN STREET

 

Local and emergency access will be maintained with the assistance of Cincinnati Police staged throughout the course.  Drivers are reminded to use caution when approaching the event site and to use alternate routes if possible.  Streetcar service will be suspended until the race is over and all streets have been reopened.
