Includes Reconfiguration of Beekman and Cummins Street Intersection
CINCINNATI – Northbound Cummins Street will be closed for approximately one year between Beekman and Carll streets in North Fairmount beginning tomorrow, Friday, July 9, for an extensive, $3.5 million improvement project.
Work includes repairs to nearly 2,000 feet of a retaining wall and its upper concrete railing, rehabilitating the street from Beekman to Carll, and adding safety improvements at the intersection of Beekman and Cummins.
Motorists heading northbound on Cummins Street will be detoured via Beekman. The southbound side of Cummins will remain open to through traffic.
The rehabilitation of Cummins and associated safety improvements at the Beekman intersection will begin next year after repairs to the retaining wall and railing are completed. The improvements include the reconfiguration of the Beekman intersection and the addition of a three-way stop to create a designated right turn to and from Cummins.
The project by the City of Cincinnati Department of Transportation & Engineering is funded with city and state funds. The contractor is John R. Jurgensen Co.
