The City of Cincinnati is proud to announce an expanded partnership with Adopt A Class, resulting in 30 classroom teams comprising City of Cincinnati staff.

The teams will be paired with a classroom (grades 4–8) and plan monthly visits, activities, and field trips that educate and inspire students to take pride in their community. Participating schools include Mt. Airy, Hartwell, John P. Parker, Academy of World Languages, and others.

The 30 classroom teams include staffers from a variety of City departments, from the Cincinnati Fire Department and Department of Transportation & Engineering to Finance, Buildings & Inspections, Law, Parks, Metropolitan Sewer District, Citizen Complaint Authority, and more. Notably, the number of classroom teams has increased by 17—more than doubling from last year’s total of 13 teams.

The City’s partnership with Adopt A Class aligns with City Manager Long’s commitment to racial equity, focus on fostering inclusion, and interest in encouraging employees to be present in the communities they serve.

Adopt A Class serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade in 45 schools across Greater Cincinnati. Adopt A Class mentors engage with their adopted classes through monthly visits, educational activities, and field trips, empowering them to unleash their full potential. Currently, more than 160 business and community groups are serving nearly 9,000 students in Greater Cincinnati.
