Cincinnati Bell Connector ‘Takes You Out to the (Reds) Ball Game for Free

CINCINNATI – Baseball fans can now use their same-day Cincinnati Reds game ticket for a free, convenient ride to (and from) Great American Ball Park aboard the Cincinnati Bell Connector.

For the 2019 season, anyone with a valid game ticket will be eligible for free rides all day on the streetcar. The campaign officially goes into effect Wednesday, April 24, when the Reds take on the visiting Atlanta Braves (6:40 p.m.).

Participating fans will need to have their ticket (digital or physical tickets accepted) present to show the fare inspector upon request. Again, tickets can only be used in lieu of streetcar fare on the day of the game.

The promotion is made possible thanks to a generous donation from Woods Hardware (125 E. Ninth St.), located just off the streetcar route between Cincinnati Bell Connector Station No. 4 at Eighth & Main and Public Library Station No.16.

The goal of the promotion is to connect Reds fans to the many bars, restaurants and other attractions along the streetcar’s 3.6-mile route. The streetcar has stops in various Cincinnati entertainment hubs including Over-the-Rhine, the Central Business District and The Banks.

“This is an exciting day for the Cincinnati Bell Connector, the City of Cincinnati and baseball fans everywhere,” said Travis Jeric, Interim Deputy Director of Streetcar Services. “The Connector provides easy and free access for baseball fans visiting Great American Ball Park, whether they’re coming from Hyde Park, Carthage, Green Township or Chicago.”

Those looking to enjoy a day at the ballpark will want to get off at the Cincinnati Cyclones Station No. 1 at The Banks.

About the Cincinnati Bell Connector
The Cincinnati Bell Connector streetcar is intended to expand transportation options and enhance livability by connecting Downtown, the riverfront and Over-the-Rhine.  It runs every 12-15 minutes from 6:30 a.m. to midnight Monday-Thursday; 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays; 8 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays; and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sundays and holidays.

The Connector is owned and funded by the City of Cincinnati, managed by the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA), and operated by Transdev.
