A new collaborative initiative, Cincy Freeze & Feed, is launching this week to provide free, nutritious meals to residents across Cincinnati neighborhoods facing food insecurity. The program kicks off with two public distribution events. The first is on Wednesday, April 9 at Millvale Recreation Center in North Fairmount from 5 to 7 p.m.
The effort is funded by Hamilton County ReSource, with freezers owned and operated by CareSource, meals provided by food rescue nonprofit La Soupe, and educational resources from the Cincinnati Health Department to promote nutrition and reduce food waste. The Cincinnati Recreation Commission is also playing a key role, hosting the freezers at strategically selected community centers.
