The Cincinnati Police Department’s 113th Recruit Class will graduate Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11:00 am, Crossroads Church, 3500 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH 45209.  Thirty-one Cincinnati Police Officers and one University of Cincinnati Police Officer will receive their commissions. 

Mayor Aftab Pureval, City Manager Sheryl Long, Police Chief Teresa A. Theetge, and Mr. Jeff Berding, Co-CEO of FCC Enterprise President (guest speaker) will address the graduates. City Manager Long will administer the oath of office and Chief Theetge will present commissions.  Fraternal Order of Police President Dan Hils, Queen City Lodge #69, will offer additional remarks.   

Class officers are Police Officer Melissa Patterson (President), Police Officer Karmen Auble (Vice President), Police Officer Jacob McCarthy (Secretary), and Police Officer Jasai Perkins (Treasurer).  Awards will also be presented to the Class Valedictorian, Top Marksman, and Outstanding Student; their names will be announced during the graduation ceremony. 

The graduates began their training on August 8, 2022. Over the past 28 weeks, they have successfully completed rigorous instruction covering all facets of modern law enforcement.  The graduates will spend their first full week as police officers participating in several community engagement projects in the Department’s “Week of Service” throughout the City of Cincinnati.   

On February 19, 2023, the new officers will report for work on patrol in one of Cincinnati’s five Districts where they will be paired with Field Training Officers for thirteen weeks.
