The Poetry and Science of Prairie: Led by poet and PhD candidate Rome Hernadez Morgan and naturalist Lara Wardlow as will hike through the prairie and creek bed at the UC Center for Field Studies while we explore the poetry and science of growing things through writing and conversation.
Whether you’re a proficient outdoorsperson or new to the outdoors, Hike + Write brings together community members to explore outdoor/wild spaces throughout the city.

Whether you’re a proficient outdoorsperson or new to the outdoors, we’d love to have you join us. Hike + Write is a series of programs that will bring together UC writers and Cincy Parks naturalists to explore outdoor/wild spaces throughout the city. 

Hike + Write is for anyone who 

  •  wants to spend time outdoors hiking or hanging out by the fire 
  • is interested in learning how to identify native plants, start a fire, or build a shelter 
  • is curious about the history and ecology of Cincinnati 
  • is interested in thinking, talking, and writing about the natural world and our place in it
