Fall is in the air…!  Join us each and every Saturday at the Trailside Nature Center for a variety of nature themed programming.  All free – and FUN!
All programs either meet or take place at the Trailside Nature Center.

 

November 2nd – Fiber Art Fun

Join us as we explore the fundamentals of fiber arts and skills such as weaving, sewing, and macramé! We will be making a simple square knot macramé bracelet and discussing various fibers, techniques, and tools all vital to making the cloth you use every day.

November 9th – Owls

Join us at Trailside to learn about the silent hunters of the night – Owls! We will cover their habitat, diet, and lifestyle before creating a cute buckeye owl craft to take home! 

November 16th – Treasure Hunt!

Do you like finding treasure? Meet us at Trailside to get your map and head into the woods to find the treasure! There will be two treasure map options to choose from based on how much you want to explore the park.

November 23rd – Burnet Woods History Walk to Celebrate 150 years!

Join Cincinnati Parks Staff for a walk around Burnet Woods. As we walk, we will discuss the general history of the park, see some pictures of what the park looked like in years past, and discuss the history of Trailside Nature Center – formally known as Trailside Museum.

November 30th – No Programing - Closed to be with family.

 

December 7th – Sewing While It’s Snowing

Join us for an introductory sewing project to learn basic stitches! Sewing is a great skill to have, and you’ll leave with a cute animal accessory as well!  All materials provided.

December 14th – Pine Trees & Pinecone Birdfeeders

Head over to Trailside for a discussion on pine trees and pinecones. We will discuss the different uses of pine trees throughout history, and you will have the opportunity to make a pinecone bird feeder to attract birds to your winter yard! All materials provided.

December 21tst – Ornaments!  

Christmas is fast approaching, but who can say no to even more ornaments? We’ll make two ornaments—stick stars and acorn nests—made with materials found right in your backyard and pantry. All materials provided. 

December 28th – No Programming

Closed Saturday, December 28th to be with family.
