Winter is here…! Join us each and every Saturday at the Trailside Nature Center for a variety of nature themed programming.  All free – and FUN!
All programs either meet or take place at the Trailside Nature Center.

Program:

January 4 – Garden Planning

New year, new you! Looking to pick up a hobby this year? Why not try gardening? In this Encounter, we will learn how to draw up plans for a spring vegetable garden, what conditions we need for our plans, and some basic garden care so we can hit the ground running as soon as it thaws!

January 11 – Pinecone Birdfeeders

Head over to Trailside for a discussion on pine trees and pinecones. We will discuss the different uses of pine trees throughout history, and you will have the opportunity to make a pinecone bird feeder to attract birds to your winter yard!

January 18 – Winter Survival

We’re all bundled up inside this winter, staying cozy by the fire (or space heater). But what would we do if we were lost in the woods in winter? Join us to hone your survival skills and learn a little bit about weathering nature at its worst.

January 25 – Wild Winter Weather

January is on its way out and spring is quickly approaching, bringing lots of change and wacky weather! Join us for weather science experiments, a weather craft, and a hike if conditions are right!
