To commemorate and celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Theodore M. Berry International Friendship Park we will be hosting the inaugural “International Friendship Day” on Saturday, September 30th, from 11am-2pm. The event will take place in the outdoor area around the Pavilion, which showcases original ceramic art tile created specifically for the park. The day will be filled with cultural information from more than 10 different countries, ranging from Zimbabwe, to France, Germany, China, and more.

We will also feature a mix of international entertainment, such as a Japanese Taiko Drums performance. Foods ranging from sweet to savory will also be available for purchase during the celebration. There will be a ceremonial "tree planting", symbolizing the continued growth of the park over the next 20 years. Our goal is to continue to broaden this meaningful event each year, bringing together more countries and cultures from around the world.

International Friendship Park was opened in 2003 and named in honor of Cincinnati’s first African American Mayor, Theodore M. Berry. Created because of Cincinnati's friendships with its Sister Cities, the park showcases mosaics, sculpture, plantings, and buildings created by, and in honor of, these international sister cities. By sharing global friendship through art and nature the park emphasizes the idea that peoples, countries, cultures, and individuals can inspire peace and grow bonds across the world.
