We were recently informed by the Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD) Ault Park's Valley Trail will close for sanitary sewer repairs starting on October 24. The closure will last approximately 10 weeks. Municipal and Contractors Sealing Products, Inc. will be performing rehabilitation of the combined sanitary sewer line in Ault Park under contract with the MSD. The scope of the project includes cleaning the combined sanitary sewer line, grouting to stop any infiltration of water into the combined sanitary sewer line, and coating the combined sanitary sewer line with a cementitious lining material of predetermined thickness. The primary objective is the structural and hydraulic renewal of the existing combined sanitary sewer line using trenchless methods. The work will not be invasive to the land, stream or surrounding infrastructure, however there will be some disruptions to the trails.

Repairs will span from Observatory Ave., all along the Valley Trail and end at Old Redbank Rd. Trail closures will occur Monday - Thursday from 7am - 7pm for a period of 10 weeks, with a potential of Friday closures (weather dependent). Cincinnati Parks staff will be responsible for opening and closing the trail daily. There will be signs placed at the Valley Trail entrances indicating its closure. Intersecting trail segments will be open so that hikers can pass from one trail system to another.

View the map below to see the extent of the closure. We have worked with our partners to limit any disruptions to the greatest extent possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes you when visiting the park.
