Saying Goodbye to the Pin Oak in Stella Park

We are sad to say that a large Pin Oak in Stella Park will be getting removed this week. The tree is 44 feet tall and has, unfortunately, been declining over the last few years. It is showing signs of two root rotting fungi, crown die back, past structural failures and internal cavities.

Although this is one of a few large trees in Stella, it must be removed to ensure the safety of all park goers.

We plan to plant at least two new trees in Stella Park this fall.
