New Botanical Model at Krohn Conservatory's Celestial Holiday

  • Dec 2, 2022

Krohn Conservatory's Annual Holiday Show is a Cincinnati tradition. Families and friends gather to experience botanical artworks and model trains in a floral landscape filled with miniature landmarks.

The exhibit grows every year thanks to the talented team at Applied Imagination, who create garden railway exhibits and botanical artworks locally in their workshop in the rolling hills of Alexandria, Kentucky just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The newest miniature is an 8-foot wide model of Music Hall brought to the public through the generosity of The Friends of Music Hall.

Included in the botanical model are ten finials on Music Hall’s gables that were restored (on the real building) in 2021.  Over the past 140 years, the original carved sandstone ornamentations had deteriorated. This restoration is part of the continuing effort by the Friends of Music Hall to renew the architectural integrity of the building.

Peter Koenig, Friends of Music Hall board president commented, “We are so happy that Music Hall is now included in this beautiful holiday display. It will be spectacular!”

Krohn Conservatory's Celestial Holiday presented by ScherZinger Pest Control is open now through January 8, 2023.  Visitors may purchase tickets online or at the door. Krohn Conservatory is located at 1501 Eden Park Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
