National Walk to a Park Day

  • Oct 4, 2024

Founded by Trust for Public Land™, National Walk to a Park Day falls on October 10, the anniversary of the launch of the 10-Minute Walk® Campaign, which established the ambitious goal for everyone in the U.S. have access to a high-quality park or green space within a 10-minute walk (or half mile) of their home. National Walk to a Park Day raises awareness about the benefits of the outdoors and encourages communities across the nation to support more public parks and green spaces. We are once again engaging with the Trust for Public Land to participate in this campaign.

Want to participate in activities for this day? Read below:

  1. You are invited to our official National Walk to a Park Day activation event, the Owls Nest Park Jam Fest, on Saturday, October 5 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Join Cincinnati Parks, Cincinnati Parks Foundation, and neighborhood community partners for an afternoon of fun. The event will include a live band, vendors, children’s activities, food, and more.
  2. Walk, Snap, and Submit. Between now and October 10 you may participate in the Trust for Public Land's Campaign by submitting a photo of your visit to your favorite park or greenspace. Be sure to tag @cincyparks, @10MinWalk and #NationalWalkToAParkDay.

We love seeing everyone visit their publicly accessible greenspaces! We can't wait to see your photos.
