Cincy Parks Staff Jacob Edwards is the Youngest Master Arborist!

For the first time in the history of Cincinnati Parks' Urban Forestry program, Urban Forestry Specialist Jacob Edwards became the youngest International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Board Certified Master Arborist. Edwards spent the past 6 years in the theoretical and practical study of arboriculture: academic (Oregon State University, B.S. Horticultural Science); professional, as arborist for renowned Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum, while maintaining a keen personal interest in trees.

Edwards' accreditation allowed Cincinnati to earn the 2021 Tree City USA Growth Award. The Growth Award recognizes major milestones and annual activities in five categories that combine to build sustainable community forestry programs over the long term. 

We are lucky to have Jacob Edwards on our team and we have lots to learn from him to pass on to the public.
