5 Fun Ways to Spend Valentine's Day in CincyParks

  • Feb 6, 2024

Love is in the air! Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and there are lots of ways to enjoy the day outdoors. And luckily, nature is always there to embrace you, whether you’re single or coupled up. Check out these five fun ways to celebrate the day of love. Try them solo or with your partner or loved one (including pets).

  1. Go on a romantic hike along the Riverfront – There’s nothing better than creating a fun memory on Valentine’s Day with your loved one. Strolling the park is a great way to get outside AND disconnect from phones. Even more romantic is a walk along the Riverfront parks. Start at International Friendship Park where you can explore the Castle of Air. Then make your way into Sawyer Point where you can sit on the Serpentine Wall for a little break before heading to Smale Riverfront Park. This will be your last stop. Take a seat on the swings while admiring the view.
  2. Breakfast or lunch with a view – Food and being outdoors is the best way to someone's heart, so combine them. Head to Mt. Echo Park, Ault Park or Alms Park to admire the view while having a bite to eat. Be sure to spread love to the environment by throwing away your trash afterwards.
  3. Date Night at Krohn Conservatory – Okay, so you hate the cold. Head to the most tropical place in Cincinnati, Krohn Conservatory. Not only will you be warm, but you’ll also see some gorgeous flowers and plants that will give you all of the Valentine’s Day vibes. Right now you can visit our spring show, The Shape of Nature featuring Oscillation, and it looks even cooler at night.
  4. Want to get active? Walk these stairs – If you want to spice things up, maybe even make it a race to the top, check out these steep stairs to get active. Fairview Park steps are challenging, but the mosaics all the way up them will distract you from being out of breath. Jackson Hill Park steps are another great option and they take you all the way to downtown, so you can grab a drink after you trek down. And of course, there's the Art Walk Steps that we share with the Cincinnati Art Museum. Head up those and then walk around Eden Park's Mirror Lake for your cool down.
  5. Photo shoot under romantic structures – Get artsy! All you need is a tripod, cell phone and one of our gorgeous pavilions or other structures. Snap as many photos as possible until you get the perfect shot. Head to Mt. Echo Pavilion, Alms Park Pavilion, Ault Park Pavilion, Piatt Park arches or the Temple of Love at Mt. Storm. Be sure to tag us in your photos! (@cincyparks)

We hope you have a great Valentine’s Day and cannot wait to see you try one of these activities in the parks!
