Simple DIY Pollinator House

You can create a simple mason bee house with upcycled household objects. These solitary bees will create larva sacs inside that will hatch in spring. Masons are great for early spring pollination – and the best part – no bee suit required!

  • Use an open tin can or a pringles chip canister.

  • Cut squares of paper to the length of your can and roll several pieces of paper into narrow cylinders.

  • Cut a few twigs to the size of the can – fill half the can with twigs, the other half with your paper rolls.

  • Spray paint outside of can beforehand to extend longevity through season.

  • Hang on flat surface that faces sunlight.
