Step 4: Pre-Development Conference (Optional)

The "Pre-Development Conference" is a preliminary review session designed to help developers identify regulatory conditions that affect their project.

We facilitate the conference, with cooperation from the various permitting agencies such as:

  • Greater Cincinnati Water Works
  • Metropolitan Sewer District
  • Cincinnati Fire Department
  • Department of Transportation and Engineering

The Pre-Development Conference is not required. You won't receive a Building Permit or approvals during the Pre-Development Conference.

Our goal is simply to help you get your project started in the right direction.

Staff may suggest ideas to make the building process easier for you. Asking us questions at the outset may save you time!

If your project will require approval through a planning process, you must file a planning application and pay required fees. Those fees are in addition to the Building Permit fees.

Required planning approvals must be granted before you are allowed to apply for a Building Permit.
