About The Permit Center

The Permit Center offers single point-of-contact service for Cincinnati homeowners, developers, architects, small business owners, construction personnel and others involved in the development and building permit process.

The Permit Center combines staff from Buildings & Inspections, the Metropolitan Sewer District, the Health Department, Greater Cincinnati Water Works , the Department of Transportation and Engineering and the Cincinnati Fire Department.  Our staff is ready to provide support during every phase of the building permit process!  Some of the services provided are:

  • Simplified and streamlined permitting process
  • One location to serve your building construction needs
  • Provides pre-development consultation
  • Advocates and facilitates approved development projects through final completion.

Through the Permit Center, the City of Cincinnati is able to provide plan review and building permit issuance with over 50% issued on the same day.

Parking is free! We strive to make the customer's experience as efficient and convenient as possible.

Hours:  7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday
Tier 1 Permits hours are 7:30 a..m. to 2:30 p.m.
Permits will not be issued after 4:00 p.m.
