Ride for Reading

Ride for Reading's mission is to promote literacy and healthy living through the distribution of books via bicycle to children from low-income neighborhoods.
Book donations are being accepted at WordPlay, Spun Bicycles, Vice Mayor Mann's Office, and more locations to follow. Books will be delivered to St. Boniface Catholic School by bike parade on Wednesday, May 7th.
Meet and load up at Coffee Emporium on Central Parkway at 11:30 a.m. The ride starts promptly at noon.
- 4 Local Trails Get New Mile Markers
Four paved trails will receive new mile markers this week, helping first responders locate injured trail users more quickly.
- Cincinnati Installs Bicycle-Friendly Thermal Traffic Sensor
The City of Cincinnati has launched a pilot project that will utilize a thermal traffic sensor to detect motorists and bicyclists at a Clifton intersection.
- Updated Bicycle Network Map
The Bicycle Transportation Program has updated the map of existing bicycle facilities within the City. The map shows the location of existing bicycle facilities such as bike lanes, sharrows, and shared-use paths.
- Green Lanes On Central Parkway
A special bright green treatment is used in high-traffic areas where motorists turning onto or off of Central Parkway cross over the path of the new bicycle lanes.
- Central Parkway Protected Bike Lanes
The Department of Transportation and Engineering is constructing protected bike lanes on Central Parkway from Elm Street to Marshall Avenue.
