Cincinnati Police Department (CPD)

The Cincinnati Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the City of Cincinnati and provides a full range of police services to 52 diverse neighborhoods. The Department currently maintains approximately 1000 sworn officers and 125 civilian employees.  Led by the Police Chief, law enforcement operations are divided among three Bureaus:  Patrol, Investigations and Support.

Chief Eliot Isaac, 49, serves as police chief.

Hired in 1988, Chief Isaac is a 27-year veteran of the Cincinnati Police Department. His experience spans virtually every aspect of policing including: administration, patrol command, internal investigations, and problem solving and community engagement.

Chief Isaac became a police captain in 2004, He served as Criminal Investigation Commander where responsibilities included oversight of all types of investigations. From 2007 to 2012 he served as District Four Commander. He also served as the Internal Investigations Section Commander and Department Night Chief.

Chief Isaac holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Xavier University and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Xavier’s Human Resources Development from Xavier.
