Maintaining GCWW's Water Distribution System

In addition to repairing mains, GCWW monitors water mains and replaces or rehabilitates more than 30 miles of water main a year.  This maintains our standards for reliability of water service to our customers.

In 1839, the City of Cincinnati bought the Water Works. It included nineteen miles of wooden pipe and three and one half miles of iron pipe.

Today, GCWW pumps more than 48 billion gallons of water per year through more than 3,000 miles of water mains. We provide our 1.1 million customers with high quality drinking water that meets or exceeds all state and federal health standards.
