Metrication Note
The City of Cincinnati is developing procedures to comply with the Federal Highway Administration’s and the Ohio Department of Transportation’s mandates and directives to implement the SI (metric) system of measurement. The City may let contracts using SI units. If the contract contains SI units the contractor will be required to adjust operations to construct the projects in accordance with the units of measurement provided. The City will cooperate with the contractor in understanding the units, but no conversion to oldstyle units or additional compensations will be paid for difficulties in working with SI units. The 1995 City Supplement incorporates many SI conversions. The traditional units are also retained. The transition to metrication will not be simple or quick. The City Supplement reflects this difficult conversion in that not all traditional units are converted herein and the conversion format is not consistent.
