Streetcar Progress Update: Week Ending Nov. 22, 2013

Construction of the Cincinnati Streetcar is continuing on schedule, north up Elm Street.

The City's construction schedule with Messer/Prus/Delta sets a goal that they reach Henry & Elm streets by the end of this year.

Currently, trackwork is on pace to meet that goal.

Traffic Alert

This is just a reminder of the notice we sent out last week: The intersection of 12th and Race streets will be closed 7am-5pm Saturday and Sunday.

This is so Duke Energy's contractor can do some underground electrical work.

Progress For This Week:

  • Water main installation started on Main Street between 2nd Street and 4th Street. Work continued on Walnut Street between 7th Street and Central Parkway.
  • Conduit work for traffic signals resumed on Race Street between Liberty and Green streets.
  • New sewer installation continued on Race Street near 13th Street, and started on Race between 14th and Liberty streets.
  • Backfilling for the Maintenance & Operations Facility was completed at Henry and Race streets.
  • Storm sewer work continued on Race Street near Findlay Street.
  • Exploratory digging for utilities continued on Walnut Street between 6th Street and 7th streets. Work started on Walnut Street between 5th and 6th streets.
  • Pavement removal started on Elm Street between Green and Findlay streets.
  • Concrete base work for the track continued on Elm Street between 12th and Green streets. Work started on Elm Street near Green Street.
  • Rail delivery and installation continued on Elm Street near Liberty and Green streets.
  • Replacement of the pavers on the east half of Elm Street between 12th and 14th streets continued.
  • Duke Energy performed underground gas work on Main Street between 4th and 6th streets; on Race Street between Liberty and Green streets; and on Walnut Street between 3rd and 5th streets.
  • Duke also performed underground electrical work on 12th Street near Walnut, Vine, and Race streets.
  • Telecom work took place on Race Street near Liberty and Green streets; on Race Street near 14th and 15th streets; and on Race Street near 12th Street.
  • Business surveys and notifications to residents wrapped up on Elm Street between Elder and Findlay streets.

Planned For Next Week:

  • Water main installation will continue on Main Street between 2nd and 4th streets; and on Walnut Street between 7th Street and Central Parkway.

  • Existing pavement removal will continue on Elm Street near Elder and Findlay streets. Work will start on Elm Street near Findlay and Henry streets.
  • Concrete base work for the track will continue on Elm Street between 12th and Findlay streets.
  • Rail installation will continue on Elm Street near Liberty and Green streets.
  • Restoration of the roadway on the east half Elm Street between 12th and 14th streets will wrap up.
  • Duke will be doing underground gas work on Main Street between 4th and 6th streets; on Race Street between Liberty and Green streets; and on Walnut Street between 3rd and 5th streets.
  • Duke will also do underground electrical work on 12th Street near Walnut, Vine, and Race streets. The intersection of 12th and Race streets will be closed as noted above.
  • Telecom work will take place on Race Street near Liberty and Green streets; on Race Street near 13th and 14th streets; and on Race Street near Central Parkway.
  • Business surveys and notifications to residents will conclude on Elm Street near Findlay Street and Henry Street.
