Miracle League Baseball

Miracle League Baseball

Miracle League Baseball offers athletes with disabilities an opportunity to have fun and participate in an organized recreation and competitive league.

The philosophy of our recreation league is; everybody hits, everybody gets on base, and everybody scores!

The competitive league makes every effort to create a true baseball experience with minimal changes.

Our league revolves around Buddies! Volunteers, children and adults are recruited to provide in field assistance for the athletes as needed. This helps promote positive interactions among individuals with and without disabilities.

Perhaps the most rewarding aspect of this league is the impact on the lives of the athletes, their families and their community.

Cincinnati Recreation Commission’s Adapted Baseball Program, which began in 1986, joined forces with the Miracle League in the fall of 2004 to become the first Miracle League of Greater Cincinnati. The national association is made up of communities across the country that sponsor baseball programs for individuals with disabilities. Both CRC's Adapted Baseball Program and Miracle League believe strongly that every individual deserves a chance to play baseball.

Funding Partners

Funding for the league comes directly from the generous donations of citizens and area businesses such as:

  • The Kid Glove Powel Crosley Amateur Baseball Fund
  • Character and Courage Foundation
  • Cincinnati Reds Community Fund
  • Bridgetown Baseball Association
  • Elder High School
  • Walk of Joy
  • R.W. Baird
  • Great American Insurance Company
  • First Financial Bank
  • Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids

The financial support of these sources has made a profound and positive difference in the lives of athletes with disabilities.

Future sponsorship will enable the Cincinnati Recreation Commission’s Therapeutic Division to continually expand and achieve its important goals -- to provide all athletes the opportunity to develop their baseball skills, promote cooperative teamwork, and promote construction of special facilities which meets the unique needs of Miracle League players and their families, and above all, HAVE FUN!

The Miracle League of Greater Cincinnati, the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and the Cincinnati Reds Community Fund have partnered and built a synthetic turf field which provides individuals with and without disabilities to play in the same park.

CRC’s Miracle League field is located at the Dunham Recreation Complex, 4356 Dunham Lane.
