A community mural entitled "The Future of Clifton" - created by after-school day campers at the Clifton Recreation Center with the guidance of local arts curator Kip Eagen - is on display now at Sitwell's Coffeehouse in Clifton.
Sitwell's owner Lisa Story encouraged the young artists to envision the future of Clifton as a 4- by 30-foot mural project exhibited as panels in the coffeehouse.
As part of the project, the CRC campers visited the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP Meyers Gallery at Steger Student Life Center to see the duct tape murals by Joe Girandola. Rise and Fall Monumental Duct Tape Drawings depict some of the world’s greatest architectural wonders. Girandola spoke to the students about the art works and fielded questions about “duck tape.”
UC architecture professor Udo Greinacher met with the students at Clifton Center to discuss plans for their community drawings.
